Frequently Asked Questions

About Semidynamics

We design and license high-performance RISC-V cores. Our IP is fully customizable, letting chip designers build optimized SoCs and ASICs for AI, ML, HPC, networking, automotive, and industrial applications.

Besides off-the-shelf cores, we also offer fully configurable designs, supporting Out-of-Order execution, RISC-V Vector Extensions (RVV), and our proprietary Gazzillion Misses™ technology for high-bandwidth memory access.

We license CPU IP only. Customers integrate our cores into their own custom silicon.

Customization & Licensing

Yes. Our cores can be tuned to your exact needs—vector unit configuration, tensor extension, memory hierarchy, and more.

Yes. We offer higher TOPS and additional memory configurations upon request.

The Configurator allows you to fine-tune CPU, Vector, and Tensor ratios for optimal PPA (Performance, Power, and Area) efficiency.

We offer flexible licensing models:

  • Single-use licenses for specific designs
  • Multi-use agreements for multiple product lines
  • Custom licensing for unique requirements

We support everything from 28nm to cutting-edge 3nm.

Software & Development

Yes, we're a hardware company but we have extensive software teams. Our cores work with standard RISC-V GCC and LLVM toolchains, and we offer compiler optimizations and debugging support. For AI we offer ONNX based libraries. Cervell™ NPUs are optimized for LLMs, deep learning, recommendation systems, and AI inference workloads.

Our cores run on all major Linux distributions, as well as RTOS and bare-metal environments for embedded and high-performance applications.

We provide:

  • Documentation to guide integration
  • Reference implementations for faster development
  • Technical support to troubleshoot and optimize

Yes, we provide:

  • Accurate simulators
  • FPGA-based evaluation platforms for prototyping and cycle accurate performance measurements
  • Debugging utilities for software development
